BEGINNER

  • Upper Beginner Level: Expanding Your Understanding

    N4 deepens your understanding of Japanese grammar and vocabulary. You'll learn around 300 kanji and 1,500 vocabulary words. You’ll be able to discuss daily activities, talk about past experiences, and express opinions in simple sentences.

INTERMEDIATE

  • Intermediate Level: Getting into the Heart of the Language

    N3 is where things get interesting! You'll expand your vocabulary with 600 kanji and 3,000 vocabulary words. At this level, you’ll start to understand more complex grammatical structures and learn to discuss a variety of topics, from work to hobbies, with more nuance.

ADVANCED

  • Advanced Level: Sharpening Your Japanese Skills

    At N2, you’ll learn 1,000 kanji and 6,000 vocabulary words, unlocking the ability to express more complex ideas and handle advanced conversations. You’ll also study nuanced grammar that’s often used in business, media, and academic settings.

  • Expert Level: Fluency and Beyond

    N1 is the highest level of the JLPT, where you’ll master 2,000 kanji and 10,000 vocabulary words. You’ll learn advanced grammar that allows you to express yourself in any situation—whether in business meetings, academic presentations, or even deep philosophical discussions.
